Yes! The Maverick will be making its return this year, and Car and Driver reports that plenty of changes are on the horizon in 2025. For starters, the new performance oriented Lobo trim is making its debut for the first time. Utilizing a 238-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine, all-wheel drive, and a seven-speed automatic transmission equipped with paddle shifters, It’s a perfect meeting ground of sportiness and rugged toughness that makes it a boon for any work scenario the Maverick finds itself in. Further sweetening the deal is The Lobo’s lowered suspension, upgraded brakes, and distinct styling cues which include 19-inch rally-inspired wheels.
It’s not just the Lobo receiving updates, though, as the entire lineup receives a styling update this year. Darkened headlamp covers open the list of revisions, which complement a redesigned front bumper and grille, and new wheel designs, while new interior trims like the Smoke Truffle theme spruce up the overall look of the beloved pickup. Also added is a larger 13.2-inch infotainment screen, replacing the previous 8.0-inch display, now offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
That’s not all buyers can expect, as the hybrid powertrain now comes with a newly available all-wheel-drive option, and when properly equipped, it can now tow up to 4,000 pounds. Ford also introduces a 360-degree camera and a new rear camera system to assist with trailer hitching.
- XL - $27,890
- XLT - $30,390
- Lobo Standard - $36,695
- Lariat - $38,330
- Tremor - $41,390
- Lobo High - $42,090
Of these trims, the XL is the most budget-friendly option, though it lacks some common comfort features, meaning that it’s best suited as a basic work truck. Stepping up to the XLT adds 17-inch aluminum wheels, cruise control, a power-locking tailgate, and power-adjustable exterior mirrors, vastly upping its practicality for the average consumer, and making it the model Car and Driver recommends in the lineup.
